Love Sick centers on two Bucharest university students, Alex (Ioana Barbu) and Christina (Zooey Deschanel look-alike Maria Popistasu), who are over the moon about each other. They mask their romance as friendship before the prying eyes of others, but Alex and “Kiki” are in love, even though the two girls are polar opposites. Alex, from the countryside, is quiet and studious, eager to make her parents proud; Kiki, from Bucharest itself, is always ready to put fun  above books. But keeping their relationship quiet is only one of the duo’s problems, since Christina's relationship with her older brother, Sandu, is pretty intense. Full of charged emotions, the trio seems headed for disaster. This film effortlessly portrays young love at its best . . . and worst.
