Ray (Paul Freeman, Raiders of the Lost Ark) is a working-class cabbie, widower, and grandfather who's still up for the occasional rumble at the pub. Jim, or "Beaky" (Alun Armstrong) has spent decades working at the cloistered public school where he took his education, and has flights of fancy about falling in love with the right man and going on safari in Tanzania. So why are they spending so much time together? As the two lads confront retirement, they find themselves taking a path that surprises everyone around them, particularly themselves. Fans of Beautiful Thing will cheer for this tender, well-acted, and lovably light drama.
